McDermott Tries Again to regulate Online Casino

This bill is to highlight the benefits of regulating Online Casino, McDermott is hoping this will pursue fellow law makers as their constiuents realize the potential benefits of regulating and taxing internet gambling

McDermott is attempting to force other lawmakers see the truth behind regulating Online Casino Industry. The income generated from this taxes can be used for Job training. Schooling for kids in foster care etc. The bill aims to raise as much as 40$ Billion over the next ten years, in what it calls as Human Resource Act.

The main issue here is how to spend the funds generated by the taxes, though the regulation needs to be approved first. McDermott stated, "IHRA would utilize a funding stream that would become available should Congress decide to legalize and regulate internet gambling, which would protect consumers and collect tax revenue that is currently offshore.”

Leading Democrats George Miller of California and John Larson of Connecticut have signed on as co-sponsors. Both these Lawmakers strongly endorsed McDermott's proposal.

National Council on Problem Gambling indicated that, its supports this bill, however also called for regulations to deal with Problem Gambling, Compulsive Wagering, under age gambling and to make sure the casinos employ safe and fair practises.

This Bill follows recent studies and expert testimonials on the best way forward in controlling Online Gaming industry.
